National Honor Society Blood Drive

The National Honor Society is sponsoring a blood drive at St. Mary’s Springs Academy, November 13th from 9 am to 2 pm at school. Blood donations do save lives, and you most likely know someone who has benefitted from a donation. This drive also helps a student receive a college scholarship. All's Fair - Purchase Your Tickets Now!

 

St. Mary’s Springs Highschool Theater presents All’s Fair by Pat Cook.
It is time again for the county fair in Flat Rock, Texas! In between the jelly judging, local politicin’ and some extraordinary spoon playing, folks can see “Nature’s Boo-Boos,” an exhibit where teenager Tommy Rogers feels right at home, especially when he tries to do “Shakespeare in the Park”! Meanwhile, the Ladies’ Auxiliary is hoping to collect funds for a hedge around the courthouse to keep all the dogs from frequenting it, while school supporters have set up a fortune-telling booth for money to get the school bus repainted yellow instead of camouflage `cause, “The bus sits there waitin’ fer the kids and they can’t find it!” This riotous but loving look at country life is chock-full of wisecracks, especially from the town gossips. So kick off your shoes, pick up a cup of lemonade and join us at the fair! No Refunds, No Exchanges.

 

The show will be held at the North Fond du Lac Horace Mann PAC at 225 McKinley Street. Shows are Friday, November 22nd at 7pm, Saturday, November 23rd at 7pm, and Sunday November 24th at 1pm.

Big Money Raffle (BMR)

The Crayon Initiative

We are collecting USED/broken crayons to donate to the Crayon Initiative. The Crayon Initiative is a program which takes used crayons, melts them down, and creates new triangle shaped crayons to donate to Children’s Hospitals across the country.  They create the triangle crayons so that the crayons do not roll off hospital trays.

 

Donation days are December 2, March 24, and May 29. Please bring them to the office or your child’s homeroom teacher on those dates.

Do you have gently used or like new instruments at home?

Do you have a gently used or like new instrument(s) that you are looking to donate? SMSA is looking to add instruments to our band programs for students who are just starting out, in need of help financially, and/or are unsure what they would like to play and may need to try a few different options. Instruments can be dropped off at the North or South office during regular school hours.

All uniform and spirit wear pieces that your child outgrows, throughout the school year, can be dropped off at the North, South or Scrip office during regular business hours.

Event/Volunteer Opportunities at CMFDL

 

CMFDL is excited to announce two upcoming events for Families. Super Saturday, where kids can dress up as their favorite super hero and enjoy various challenges at this FREE event, or included with admission. It runs 9-4 on Saturday, November 16th.

 

Also, coming up this holiday season is CMFDL’s annual Holiday event, this year’s Snowflake Spectacular will be held on Saturday, December 14th from 9am to noon. FREE for members, $10 for non-members.

Odyssey Theatres now available at Scrip

We now have Scrip available for Fond du Lac’s newest entertainment establishment. Perfect timing for the new releases coming out over Thanksgiving Break and also for Christmas gift giving.

Parents of Athletic Booster Club (ABC) and Performing Arts (PPA) Updates

If your high school or middle school child participates in band, chorus, theater, or jazz vocals/band, you are invited to join the PPA and support arts programming at SMSA. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6 pm in the Lauby Lounge (first floor teacher lounge).

 

Our next meeting is on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Please note that the PPA will not meet in December. Contact megan.seel@gmail.com with any questions.

 

 

Parent Connectors - Join us Today

Trunk or Treat was a huge success!

Thank you so much to all families who attended Trunk or Treat last Thursday! It was a huge success! Mr. Ledger even joined us! It was wonderful to observe the kids’ excitement while going from car to car. Thank you to all parents who signed up to pass out candy. Your decorated trunks looked fabulous. Thank you to all families who donated extra candy!

Get involved with our Parent Connectors Group!!

Are you wanting to get more involved in our Parent Connectors Group? If so, look for the Parent Connectors volunteer form in your packet you will be receiving at the supply drop off day (3K-5th Grade). If your youngest child is in 6th grade or above, you won’t be receiving a form to fill out but can email Andrea Nuss, alnuss@charter.net, to share that you are interested in being a part of our group. Every year a new email group gets created so please submit your form even if you have done so in the past years. Also, only one form per family is needed to be filled out. Throughout the year, our group has various school family events as well shows our amazing SMSA Staff how appreciative we are for them. By being a part of our group, you will receive emails that shares ways you can help with these events through volunteering and donating.
