From the Desk of Steve Kelnhofer - Elementary School Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,
The end of our 23/24 school year is here. As I reflect upon the journey of this school year, memories of the Ledger Way core values in action come to my mind. Stories of faith, responsibility, respect, leading, learning, and community. Together we get to grow children to become future leaders to meet the global challenges for tomorrow as we are rooted in Christ’s teaching. Grades P3 – Kindergarten students would have been brought home in a hard copy of their report card on the last day of school. Grades 1-8 a digital reports card is available to parents in Skyward with an option to print the report card.

A special thank you to our faculty and staff. It’s an honor to work with each and every one of you through teaching and learning the whole child. These days are not easy and these days are filled with challenges. On this road that is chosen, know the joys, smiles, “”ah ha”” moments plant seeds that positively influence the world. Thank you for sharing your gifts, talents and time with SMSA.

Thank you for choosing SMSA and partnering with us this school year. As a learning institution, we move forward with a growth mindset to become the best version of ourselves as we journey through life together. It truly takes a whole village to raise children to be global leaders of tomorrow rooted in Christ’s teaching. Thank you for being a part of the SMSA Ledger community. May your summer be filled with safety, joy, hope and love.

Until we meet again, have a safe and fun summer break and may God bless you!

Sincerely,
Steven Kelnhofer
Elementary Principal, SMSA

Join the #FlatLedger Summer Project

Students currently enrolled in grades K-7 are welcome to join our summer project, #FlatLedger. Based off the Jeff Brown book “Flat Stanley.”

We want your children to get excited about reading and geography with #FlatLedger! As you travel this summer we want you to take #FlatLedger along and document with photos and postcards to share with all the Junior Ledgers at SMSA. When students return in August, we will have a map of all the travels our #FlatLedger took with our Ledger families. Any photos and postcards will be posted by the library for all to view. More explanation of this program was sent home with students in K-4 via a hard copy, while Grades 5-7 received it via email during the last week of library.

Travels with #FlatLedger begins on May 30th and will end on August 18th. All items must be submitted by August 18th.

Here is how you can submit your #FlatLedger adventures:
