On Sunday, October 27, Holy Family will welcome Michael James Mette for a free worship concert from 3:30to 5:00 pm at Holy Family Church (due to the Packer game, the time was changed from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m.).
Mette’s music stands at the intersection of the church and culture, drawing from pop and worship influences. He previously performed at Holy Family Church with his children as part of the band, MJM7. All are welcome to attend. Free-will donations will be accepted.
Families are invited to experience the prayer of the rosary come to life at Holy Family’s Living Rosary event on Saturday, October 26 from 9:00 to 10:00 am in Holy Family Hall. Whether you love the rosary or are intimidated by it, all families are welcome. Coffee and donuts will be available.
On Thursday, October 24, celebrate Holy Family’s newly renovated Warming Shelter and their mission to care for those in need at the Grand Unveiling! Beginning at 3:00 pm, tour the shelter, 73 E. First St., as you enjoy light refreshments. At 5:30 pm, we will cut the ribbon at the facility and draw the winners of the 2024 Holy Family Warming Shelter Raffle! During the event, we will collect donations of new adult men’s and women’s socks and underwear to provide to our guests this season. On Friday, November 1, Holy Family Catholic Community will celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints, and offer several Masses for this Holy Day of Obligation. A Vigil Mass will be offered at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 31 at Sacred Heart. This Mass will include incense and be followed by Eucharistic Adoration and the Litany of Saints. After, parishioners are invited to participate in our All Saints’ All-Night Vigil. Adoration will continue through the night and conclude at 11:45 am with benediction prior to the 12:00 pm Mass at Sacred Heart the next day. On Friday, there will be Masses at 7:00 am at Holy Family, 12:00 pm at Marian University, 6:00 pm at Sacred Heart, and in Spanish at 7:00 pm at Holy Family. On Saturday, November 2, Holy Family Catholic Community will celebrate All Souls’ Day, also called the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed, a day dedicated to praying for our beloved dead. In addition to the 8:00 am Mass at Holy Family, there will be a Mass at 10:00 am Our Risen Savior and 12:00 pm at St. Peter. Following the Masses at Our Risen Savior and St. Peter (both of which will use incense), there will be a procession through their cemeteries to pray for our beloved dead. Lastly, there will be a Mass in Spanish for All Souls’ Day or Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at 10:00 am at Holy Family.
Looking for more ways to support the shelter this season? There are several ways you can help! Holy Family is in need of volunteers to assist at the warming shelter throughout the season particularly on Saturday nights. To sign up please visit our website. The shelter is also in need of meal donations to serve guests throughout the shelter season, which runs November 1 to April 30. To sign up, please visit our website. Lastly, the shelter is collecting donations of new towels, laundry detergent, full-size shampoo, hand sanitizer, and disinfecting wipes, all of which can be dropped off at the Holy Family Parish Office. You are also invited to purchase items off our Amazon Wish List, which features some of the shelter’s most needed items.
Women are invited to join their fellow parishioners on the Holy Family Bus Trip to the Women of Christ Conference on Saturday, November 16. The bus will board in the Holy Family Church parking lot at 6:15 am, leave at 6:30, and travel down to the Brookfield Conference Center. The Women of Christ Conference provides women the opportunity to celebrate their Catholic faith with women throughout the area. The bus trip will cost $25 per person (an additional $1.75 processing fee if paying online) and St. Mary’s Springs Academy employees, young adults, and Holy Family staff/catechists travel free.
